CLAIM STATUS
Can I sell a Terra claim that is still under review?
You can ask Terraloss about a purchase while your claim is under review. Whether an offer is available depends on the records and status we can verify. If you do not have a determined amount, start with a question instead of guessing a number.
Read the latest notice first
An individualized review, an initial determination and an allowed claim are different points in the process. The court-approved procedures describe review, determinations and steps for disputing an amount. Read the status and any action requested in your own latest notice.
Keep the notice date and the document itself. A general case update cannot tell you whether your individual claim has been determined. For that, use your claim record and the official claims service.
Which amount should you give a buyer?
If you have a determination, identify the amount and its status. If you only have a figure from your original filing, label it as the filed amount. That figure should not be presented as a final allowed amount.
On the Terraloss form, select “Still under review” before entering an amount. Explain what the figure represents in the note. If you do not have a figure to use, choose “I don’t have an amount yet” and send your question without one.
Have these details ready
- The status in your latest claim notice and the date of that notice.
- The amount in your filing or determination, with a clear label for which one it is.
- Any distributions already received or claim rights already assigned.
- The question you want answered before considering a sale.
What an offer would need to resolve
A buyer needs to understand what is being purchased and what remains unresolved. Asking for a price does not, by itself, confirm that a pending claim can be sold or that a price will be available.
If an offer is made, check its cash amount, currency, deductions, rights and payment conditions. Ask what happens if the claim determination changes before closing. Those details need to be addressed in the actual agreement.
Keep following the official process
An inquiry to Terraloss does not file evidence, dispute a determination or change a deadline in your case. Continue following the instructions in your official notices and raise case-specific procedural questions through the official claims service.
The first Terraloss form takes no document uploads. Keep your supporting records for a later review, and agree on how to provide them before sending sensitive documents.
