SELL OR WAIT
Sell your Terra claim or wait for a payout?
Selling gives you a contractual purchase price in exchange for specified claim rights. Waiting keeps those rights and exposes you to the amount and timing of future recoveries. Neither choice is automatically better for every creditor.
Start with the actual choice
Compare the cash amount in a written offer with the future rights you would retain by waiting. A sale is not the same thing as an estate distribution. It is a transaction with a buyer, and its payment obligations depend on the agreement.
You may prefer liquidity sooner, or you may prefer to retain exposure to later recoveries. The decision depends on your needs and the terms available to you. Terraloss has a commercial interest in buying claims.
A headline is not a payout schedule
The Plan Administrator’s role includes realizing assets, pursuing litigation and ultimately making distributions. That does not turn every lawsuit or announced damages figure into money available for your claim.
Use official notices to check a distribution date, eligibility requirements and the payment calculation. This guide does not assert a final recovery percentage or a distribution date. It is not a live payout tracker.
Questions to answer before selling
- How much money will I receive after agreed deductions?
- Which current and future rights will I transfer?
- What has to happen before payment is due?
- What if closing is delayed or a condition fails?
- Have I had enough time to review the agreement or obtain advice?
